A: Rather than treating bite alignment, Simply Smile® focuses on straightening your visible front teeth.

Q: What do the Simply Smile® braces look like?
A: While Simply Smile® braces are not invisible, they are very discreet, thanks to clear ceramic and tooth colored wires.

Q: Is the process uncomfortable? A: Your comfort is always first with Dr. Gauthier. The fitting of the brace is painless, though it is normal to feel a bit of discomfort a couple of days after adjustment. Simply Smile® braces use light forces to encourage your teeth to move into their new position. Simply Smile® brackets also won’t affect your speech.

Q: Will I have to wear a retainer?
A: Simply Smile® braces will require a retainer after removal in order to keep your teeth in their new position. You have a few options to choose from to protect your improved smile. A small, thin piece of wire can be bonded to the back of your teeth, or you can have one specially made of acrylic to be worn at night.

Another option for straightening teeth discreetly is ClearCorrect™. These clear aligners are made in Texas, and since 2006, they’ve successfully straightened thousands of people’s teeth. Similar to Invisalign®, ClearCorrect™ uses a series of custom-made, plastic aligners to apply pressure and gently shift teeth into their desired position. Each set of aligners is worn for a few weeks, as determined by your individual treatment plan.

Jonas Gauthier, DDS

Dr. Gauthier is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe and LSU School of Dentistry. He has been in private practice, serving the residents of Central Louisiana since 1996. His family has been actively involved in numerous church, civic, and recreational organizations since moving to Pineville. He strives to bring cutting edge, cost-effective technologies and ideas to his practice.
